Do you ever get awards fatigue? We know how you feel! Award winning this, award winning that. What does it all really mean?
To us, it’s important that any awards we enter reflect us not only as a brand, but as a green business. So we are careful about choosing which ones to enter, awards that are carefully judged by people who have expertise and understanding.
So here goes.
MARIE CLAIRE SUSTAINABILTY AWARDS
Our most recent accolade was a very exciting one! We were Highly Commended in the Marie Claire Sustainability Awards Sustainable Homes & Lifestyle Retailer category. Of their awards, they say: “At Marie Claire UK, we’ve been encouraging conscious consumption for over 35 years, long championing buying quality over quantity, reusing, and recycling - which is why we’re so keen to shout about the brands who share the same values.” We are indeed honoured to be included as one of their 100+ best sustainable brands in the world, according to experts!
GREEN APPLE AWARDS
Another great honour for us was our International Green Apple Award for Sustainable Development. We competed against more than 500 other nominations to scoop one of the coveted awards, run by The Green Organisation - an international, independent, non-profit, non-political environment group that recognises, rewards and promotes environmental best practice around the world.
Alongside awards recognising green initiatives, we also feel our talents as candle makers and retailers deserve occasional recognition.
GOTY
We were delighted when our PRIDE candles were Highly Commended in the Gift of the Year Awards 2022 in the Collectable, Commemorative & Charitable category. We’ve had success here before, winning in 2019 for Home Fragrance of the Year for the very fabulous Bitter Orange & Ylang Ylang.
BEST SMALL SHOPS
Although we no longer have a retail space, one of our proudest moments was going to the Houses of Parliament for the National Best Small Shops Awards in 2019. Many fantastic independent, ethical retailers attended and it was a huge moment to collect the Runner Up award.
EXETER LIVING
Another retailer success was winning Retailer of the Year at the Exeter Living Awards – which gave us a particularly lovely trophy to bring with us when we moved to Chorley!
